A pre-1911 photograph of the jail before the large annex was built. The jail was said to resemble a "Welsh Castle."
This pass to attend a hanging was given out by the sheriff.

Thought to be a picture of the last hanging at the Cambria County Jail in 1909.

Old Stone Jail

The Old Cambria County Jail: Behind the Stone Wall 1870 - 1970
On December 18, 2001 our Society opened a new exhibit at the old county jail on Center Street in Ebensburg. Visitation hours are Mon. - Fri. 9:00AM to 4:00PM.
